About Pit and Pump

A small site with a narrow subject, and everything on it traced to a source you can check.

The gist

Sump pumps are the one fixture in a house that gets noticed only when they stop, which is why this site leads with a bucket and sixty seconds rather than with a telephone number. Pit and Pump belongs to NXTA Flow, performs no work, and takes its maintenance material from FEMA.

Pit and Pump is a referral service, not a contractor. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands, and a discharge connection is usually a permitted alteration — ask to see the permit. We carry out no work, we sell no equipment, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

One appliance, one question

Pit and Pump is a referral service operated by NXTA Flow. We connect homeowners with independent contractors for sump pump repair, replacement and discharge work.

The site is small on purpose. The coverage page explains why there are no town pages here when our sibling sites have thousands.

The two sources behind it

Three sources carry nearly everything here, and each is named on the page that uses it:

Where a source would not support a claim, the claim is not made. That is why there is no service life for a pump on this site beyond FEMA’s own, and no prices anywhere.
